In 2012 I moved from the US to Israel. I settled in a little community called Kibbutz Kfar Aza, which is located less then 2 miles from the border with Gaza.
Since then, I’ve been injured by two mortar shells that exploded about 5-10 meters/yards from me. In 2014 I’ve been diagnosed with severe PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, in accordance with the Defense Ministry, and Social Securty. I’m registered as Disabled Due to Hate Crimes.
some time after 2014, I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia that in times worsened. I haven’t worked, and been unemployed, since December of 2019. I don’t remember what it’s like to have a day without pain.
One thing that I’d like to add, but added to my PTSD is that in 2016 I was brutally attacked at my own home. The are still days that I see his vicious grin; and I shudder.
FOR CLARITY: there are whole weeks that I don’t leave my bedroom of fear of an attack. Good people bring me food from time to time. I don’t go grocery shopping; I have the food delivered; if I have enough money. I only go out for doctors’ appointments, or for therapy. That as it. Many friends that I used to have, are gone now.
My whole family is in the US and I need to get back to them. 1. I need it in order to help myself and work on my own issues.
2. My parents are elderly, and Mom is with debilitating cancer, and Dad is getting tired. I need to help out. 4. My brother and my nieces are in the US.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW: my condition and disability will NOT burden the US Social Security and Welfare because the Israeli Ministry of Defense and Social Security will continue to pay, and reimburse me, for my treatments. And, I will find a job before I leave for the USA.
The funds that I’m hoping to raise will be used to pay for the packing and eventual move itself by a shipping company; for an airline ticket to fly to the US; for car rental and eventual purchase of a vehicle; to pay first and last months for renting an apartment; to purchased furnishing for the apartments, and buying additional necessities. Basically, the funds will get me back to my family, and will help me to start my life all over again, at age 53.
I have no rewards to offer for those who help me, because I can barely put bread on the table. So I can offer a special prayer to each and every one of you, and, if you want, a special “Thank You” email
