Dear Sir/Ma'am

I am Theophilus Adigwe, born in one of the poorest village in Nigeria. My Dad was 70 years old when he had me. My Mum was born without her two eyes, but she, miraculously, sees and did took care of me and my siblings. My Mum is the living proof of "Reincarnation."

My family was among the poorest in my neighborhood. We could hardly feed each day that passed by, but we survived. My greatest dream as a child was to become a flight pilot. Due to the poor state of my family, my parent was only able to see me through grade 6. After graduating from grade 6 at the age of 13, my dad took me to a local shop to learn car painting, and decided that I should settle down in the village. I was devastated as I watch all my mates headed to grade 7 and on. I knew that was not the best life for me, but am not in the condition to make decisions yet. After about a year or two, my mum stopped me from going to that shop. She did all she could to send me back to school but couldn't. I was at home for additional 3 years.

Because of my increasing desire to go back to school, I struggled to get a job at a construction site, where I have to carry sands, cements, and blocks for several months. I recalled coming back home and handing all the money I made from that job to my mum so she could use it to register me back in school. That's was how I was able to complete grade 12. After completing grade 12, and my dad passed away, my mum was unable to send me to college.

But I kept struggling, doing anything I could, and was able to get married, and hard 3 boys while still struggling. Because of my desire for a better life, I have to leave my family and travel to Dubai. Getting here in 2015, I was blessed with cleaning job on a yacht. Due to my desire to be with my wife and kids in a better place, I have to save the little money I made and was able to bring my family close to me about a year later. Life was not, really, the best for us. But we kept managing.

Because of my childhood dream and love for the Aviation industry, I did save a little again, and was able to register for online programs in "Airport Operations" and "Aircraft Mechanics." I had thought that these certification will quickly help me secure better job and take good care of my family. But after completing the programs, I was told that I had no prior experience and was not offered a job. I did all I could to secure job at the airport no matter how small, but couldn't find any. So, I had to fall back to my cleaning job. After two years, and because of the high state of living in Dubai, I was unable to support my family and have to send them back to my country. Watching my wife and kids leave was one of the most devastating moments of my life. They are now back in my country, while am still in Dubai managing the cleaning job.

After watching my family leave my side, I knew it was because I still hasn't have the good education and good job yet to financially support them with me. So, started studying again now focusing on maritime industry where I have prior experience. I am currently half way in my studies to become a boat captain with (International Certificate of Competence ICC). I have just completed the theoretical part of the program and have been awarded the theoretical or shore-base certificate. But in order to complete the program, I have to do the practical part. That, I cannot afford now. I needed about $5000 to travel to UK to complete the program and then, be awarded the (ICC License as a boat captain).

Although, this industry is full of people who are racists, and do not want to give people like me a job because of where I came from. But, this is all I have now. I have given about 5 years of my life into it. And of course, my childhood dream was to become a flight pilot, but that I cannot afford now.

This job is all I have now. And I believe I can be a good boat captain if am bless with the license to operate. I am pleading to any kindhearted man or woman out there to kindly help make this my dream comes through. Whatever way you can be help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and God bless
