Before I introduce myself I would like to say thank you to everyone who took the time to look at my campaign and read my story. Receiving donations is only a small portion of the picture. The complete picture is my story, a story composed of my drives, my passion, my goals, and my dreams.

My name is Agustina and you should be certain that I am seeking, I am striving, and I am in this with all my heart. By no means am I here to make you feel pity or cause lament. Instead, my goal is to positively impact and move those who read my campaign.  Whether you read all of it or just a portion I hope you take with you some ambition, value, passion, and most of all understand that I am here for everyone’s tomorrow, including yours. I am here so to inspire and portray my passion for making a difference in the lives of others.  My arms are here to help because rescue is possible.

I graduated from Florida State University on December 2013 with a Bachelor in Science (Psychology) and a minor in Child Development. After graduating from FSU, in January 2014 I started my Psy.D in Clinical Psychology at Carlos Albizu University with a concentration in Child Psychology. While working with patients through two semesters I began to realize that I wanted a career where I would be able to have more direct, hands on experience with patients. It was a difficult decision to make but my true passion is becoming a CRNA in Pediatrics or OBGYN. CRNAs work closely with patients and their families to ensure proper care and comfort and, as such, are regarded with respect by nursing and medical personnel. As I learnt more and more about this career I knew this is exactly what I wanted, this was a big challenge and at the same time drove my passion. In order to fulfill my dream I have enrolled for a second-degree in Biological Sciences at Florida International University. This degree will complete the pre requisites required to enroll in the Accelerated Nursing Program at FIU. The program graduates are eligible to write the NCLEX (Registered Nurse licensing examination) to become registered nurses after completing the 3-fulltime semesters. After becoming a Registered Nurse I will be able to start working to help those in need while I also pursue my next goal of becoming a Nurse Anesthetist at FIU’s CRNA program.

I am a hard worker, I accept life’s challenges because it’s a force that keeps me going… it keeps me striving for success, and promises me the acquisition of new and applicable knowledge. Challenge is my motivation. Without challenge, without this push to keep going, I would have no reason to aim for reaching my ultimate best. I believe that we all need challenge in some area of our lives…without it there is no need to achieve something and therefore, leads to a feeling of being unaccomplished. Overcoming challenge is my positive reinforcement. It allows me to compete not with others but with myself and no one else. I am for doing good, for creating change for those in need and providing hope to one day lead them to a better place. Involvement and generous funding can help me move forward and accomplish my goal and passion of becoming a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. My passion for helping others doesn’t stop with patients. As a future Nurse Anesthetist I hope to inspire students, help those who live in extreme poverty, and become a mentor to others who might one day wish to follow in my footsteps.

I had the opportunity to reach out and come closer towards several of my personal goals when I volunteered for an organization that partners with low-income communities in Latin America to improve their access to medicine, education, and community development initiatives. This experience reassured me that I am headed in the right direction; my footsteps and thoughts are without a doubt taking me down the same path desired and directed by my heart and soul.  I witnessed patients who unfortunately suffered from chronic illnesses, had no family support, no resources, and no access to health care providers. During this mission trip I was challenged by the extensive barriers to care as I realized that multiple issues such as access to clean water must be addressed in order to reduce illness. This was and is a tragic issue, it is heartbreaking and hard to fight. But something positive came out of a negative… I was able to bring peace and comfort to people. In something so tragic, something so beautiful came out of it. I gave my heart and soul, I helped, I inspired, and I grew.

Search for the meaning of life and give it a purpose, make it valuable, and in return your heart will open.  I found meaning and gave it a purpose. I found meaning when I found my gift, I let joy emerge and let all love flow through me. Giving it a purpose emerged beautifully as it guided and taught me that its purpose is to give the gift away. Having accomplished a psychology degree, and now striving to become a Registered Nurse and CRNA all together gives my gift its purpose. I am able to give it away to those who most need it. This is far from what I once was but not yet what I’m going to be. My goal is to STEP FORWARD, REACH OUT, and HELP.

Thank you again for reading my campaign and I hope that you can help me help others.
