Help a young GB athlete train & compete.

This was a fun trip, we teamed up with her relay partner Sebastian and drove to Germany... saves a few pounds, Reya was involved in the Individual and relay events over the two days. The relay was good, but not quite quick enough to podium, but a good shoot and run. Great experience for the individual event the next day. Reya was one of the last into the shoot, but shot brilliantly to come out second from the range. Unfortunately on after a decent run, she went to the wrong shooting position, a Hungarian athlete with the same pistol... No disqualification, just confusion and a loss of time. She focused and pushed trough. Still finishing ahead of a lot of good athletes. She was kicking herself for the mistake, but learned a lesson in the process. That is what these competitions are about, gaining the knowledge and learning. She was very surprised to receive a Bronze medal. Goes to show that you should never give up! It was nice for Reya and Sebastian to race together again, first time since Cape Town in 2017.

TEAM SILVER. Tough event, over 50 countries represented. The Girls U13s event was so competitive they had to run two heats/semi finals and then the fastest girls competed in the final. The course was run on a dog track, 3x400m.

Reya finished 9th in the Semi Final and 14th in the Final. Shoot was very good, Run was tough. She was over the moon with the Team Silver Medal in a very competitive field of young athletes.

Reya took part in the English National Fencing Championships in June, first ever real competition. Finished a very respectable 12th over all. She learnt a lot and had fun too.

Reya competed in the East Region Tetrathlon last weekend. Run & Shoot, Swim and Fence. The fencing was challenging as Reya has only had a few training sessions and was fencing against more experienced girls. It was a good experience and very enjoyable. Reya finished 3rd overall. Thank you for organising East Pentathlon.

Last Saturday Reya competed in the British Modern Biathlon Championships (Run & Swim) in Solihull, finishing 25th overall in the Country. She had not been feeling well during the week and was given the option to stay in bed and chill, but she still wanted to compete and give it a go. She then gave her all in the ADSC Swimming Champs on Sunday and did brilliantly.

We had some good news regarding this campaign. Your help/kind donations along with support from the Aylesbury Vale Community Trust has enabled us to purchase a Eco Aims Laser Pistol and practice target for Reya. As you can see she is over the moon. Thank you so much for your continued support, we are humbled by your generosity. Maybe one day you will see Reya competing in the Olympics and you can say you have been a part of that achievement.

Reya has a couple of Pentathlon training days coming up before Christmas where she can get to grips with the new pistol.

Christmas has come early!!

Thanks again!

We are finally back from the Laser Run World Champs in Cape Town, SA.

With a Team Silver medal, Girls U11s.

It was an amazing experience for Reya representing Team GB on an international stage. Reya competed in both the individual and mixed relay events. She finished 11th overall in the individual and 7th in the mixed relay with her teammate Sebastian. For the individual race Reya shot a perfect 5 & 5 and was the first British girl to finish in the U11s category. The mixed relay was more of a challenge in wet and windy conditions, the race start was delayed due to heavy rain, she was not happy with her shoot, but held her composure and put in an really determined run, Sebastian shot well and finished strongly. The races were very tough for all the visiting teams with most age groups being heavily loaded with host nation athletes. The U11s Girls having 27 entries, 19 being from South Africa. The U11s mixed relay of 15 entries 11 were from the home nation. Unfortunately the mixed relay was not without controversy, a false start by several SA teams was ignored by the officials and the international guide lines were also not strictly adhered to. Reya and Sebastian did brilliantly against the odds.

Reya really enjoyed representing Great Britain. The coaches were pleased with her performance and very happy with her attitude.

She has only been shooting since January, competing against children that have been doing it for several years. Getting her own pistol will help her to practice more often, gain confidence and really push herself. The speed of the shoot is a massive factor.

She will be competing in other pentathlon events which involves the use of a laser pistol, Triathlons and Triathle. https://www.pentathlongb.org/

It would be great to raise enough funds to get a pistol which will last her a lifetime.

Thank you all that have contributed so far.

Proud Daddy, trying to help, not a pushy parent at all. Sport should be fun.
