I'm seeking assistance with my £2000 PGCE fees to help me train to be a teacher in Hartlepool, with a view to teaching in a developing country once qualified. I'm offering work in return for donations! Look on the right-hand side of this page to see what I'm offering. ----->

** Please note that I've set up this page for interested family and friends only. I don't expect people to regard this as a charitable mission. **

I'm really happy to have got a place on the Schools Direct Training Programme, which I start in September. I'll be receiving a salary to train on the job as a primary school teacher, and I have opted in to do a PGCE at the same time. This is a great opportunity to gain an internationally-recognised teaching qualification: essential if I intend to teach abroad.

I had intended to cover the fees by working throughout the summer on a playscheme for children with learning disabilities. The wage from this, plus my wages that I'm still receiving from my last job, would have been enough. However, because the scheme manager was on holiday during June, my application was not processed as early as expected and they decided there wasn't time to sign me up before the summer. This was a great shame, as I'd been led to believe that the job was mine. I am currently working in Grove Hill fruit shop, but do not have enough hours to cover my fees.

I have to pay the £2000 in course fees before the end of August. I will be taking out (another) Career Development Loan to cover this. However, the CDL only offers 80% of the total amount needed, which would leave a £400 deficit: therefore, I would like to raise as much as possible towards this.

My housing issue has now been solved - hallelujah! However, I have just been hit with a £415 council tax bill for my seven-month temporary stay at my aunt's house, which I now need to pay. My aunt was told when I moved in that nothing was payable as my stay was temporary. My final issue is that I have no computer. I've been using a borrowed one for a while, which I have now given back. As my course is a distance learning course, and I have to submit all my assignments and evidences online, This is a fairly essential item!

I understand that most people have to stump up the cash for their own training expenses. This is why I'm not promoting this page, and am not expecting that this page will supply all of the money I need. A series of fortunate events has led me to this point, and I am embarking on this PGCE in faith that God will provide.

So... £2500 in four weeks? My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there's nothing that He cannot do!
