Help Me Study at Delft University of Technology – From Turkey to Netherlands

Hi! I am Onur Yavuz, a senior student at Uskudar American Academy. I am currently pursuing my education with need-based financial aid.

I am intrigued by software engineering and entrepreneurship, which are topics I want to engage in my professional life. I have recently been admitted to my dream school, Delft Technical University, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). I am sure that TU Delft will help me improve in technology and innovation, and I am very excited about that.

However, I come from a low-income family. The devaluation of the Turkish Lira has also made it impossible for my family to invest in Euros, as our currency is now approximately ten times less valuable than Euros.

TU Delft does not award any financial aid and requires a tuition fee of 14,500 Euros. Your donation would help me get an equal chance of receiving an education. As for other expenses, my family might be able to barely cover my living expenses of 11,750 Euros by becoming indebted.

With the education I may receive, I will participate in innovative projects and make the gradually worsening nature cleaner and the world more habitable. I am fully aware that I will face countless obstacles if I try to achieve these in Turkey; therefore, I want to continue my education in Europe. In addition, when I have a consistent income, I plan on financing the education of people like myself. I do not want young people to feel worthless due to an unfair and inadequate education system.

The target money is 20,000 USD, which is more than my annual tuition fee of 14,500 Euros. This is because the site charges 12% of the donations collected as commission. I will also use the received donations over my target to cover the costs of my second and third years of university
