My name is Charles, I am a father of four from Southern Africa. I came to England 7 years ago fleeing from political unrest in my country. I came alone on a visitors visa, I then over stayed my visa due which was a poor decision on my part.
Following that I sought some advice from friends and got the proper information on how to seek asylum through the correct channels. I did so and my application was declined in 2014.
I have been going through the appeal this process ever since. Since I have not been granted leave to remain or any kind of status for that matter, I am not allowed to work or access benefits. I am currently destitue, living off the kindness of family and friends.
I would now like to hire a professional solicitor to take over my case not legal aid. The sooner I can get leave to remain, the sooner I can get a job and not only fend for myself, but start to send money to my family for my childrens school fees and upkeep.
A stranger spoke to me about this some time last week and she does not know how much hope this gives me. I would appreciate any assistance, I hope to be able to be in a position were I can help someone too some day.
