My Younger Years

My name is Meagan, ever since I was a little girl I always had to do for myself. I was 10 years old raising both of my little sisters, because our parents were either not there or mentally not there. They are both convicted felons addicted to drugs. Me and my sisters blocked out or child hood, but one thing my middle sister told me she remembered and it broke my heart when she said it “ I remember the day mom and dad were outside fighting and they were slamming each other’s head into the washing machine and you picked me up , carried me inside to the stairs and rocked me telling me that everything was going to be okay!” She was 3-4 years old and that’s all she remembers from her childhood. I always made sure they were taken of, baths, bedtime, and cooked whatever I could find. My maw maw passed away when I was 11 and that was my breaking point because she was all I had and I went into a deep depression.

My Teenage Years

I quit high school when I was 16 years old because I was so tired being a kid raising two Other kids. Plus the rumors that went around about me were to much. They would all say I was a spoiled brat and worse, but they didn’t know everyday before I walked in my front door I would pray that I wouldn’t find my mom overdosed on the couch! That’s why It’s a very important lesson I drill in my kids head that you don’t bully or judge someone , because everyone has a battle they selfie fighting that we don’t know about At age 17 I met Nick ( ex-husband) and got pregnant with Ava. She was born on September 27, 2007! She was my saving grace from my family and following in their footsteps. When the nurse put her in my arms and she looked up I me I promised her she would have the best life and never grow up the way I did, and that I would get my ged and better my life for our future. April 2008 I graduated and got my ged.

April 2008 after my graduation we moved to Georgia with his parents to start a new life. Two years later our little boy Nickolas was born on September 26, 2009.

Two years after that our last angel was born Irelynn on September 9, 2011. They told me after her I wouldn’t survive another pregnancy.

my life now

In June 2013 me and nick got divorced. We have joint custody with him the primary custodian. I agreed to that because at the time I had been a stay at home mom, so I had no job, place to go, vehicle, or family and I wanted the kids to be at their home safe and where I knew they would be taken care of. It took me two years to get on my feet and get a job and car but then the engine went out and with my credit being bad from when I was married with credit card debt, medical bills and student loans I couldn’t get anything and now at 29 I still can’t. That is why I created a fundraiser page as my last resort because I have been denied for a credit card and loans from past mistakes and no family help. I have recently lost my job due to no reliable transportation I tried to ask for family help and they said “ no Meagan we can’t do It from helping your parents and other sisters out over the years, your just like your mom and dad!” That is why this fundraiser is Important to me because I have no help , they help out my parents and sisters who are addicted to drugs and going no where in life but the only ONE in the family trying to do better they turn down. I also promised my kids who remind me every day to not give up that I would accomplish my goals without my family’s help so I can finally prove to them that they were WRONG. My four goals In life is to pay off debt because I will not file bankruptcy, then finish my nursing degree, I also want to get a car so I have a reliable ride for work and to see my kids in Georgia whom I haven’t seen In 6 months , and they always say “mommy when are you coming to see us.” And I’m trying to start my own work at home business to do what I love and have my own hours so I can take the trips to see them when I want.

I just want to go ahead and thank everyone in advance , because you have showed me that people do care and that I’m not alone. In this lesson I can also teach my children you can accomplish anything you put your mind too.
