Straight to the point

I am taking the leap from a full time sales person in a shoe selling industry to pursue my dream of being an artist full-time. I have been slowly pursuing this dream for a few years on the side but I feel the time has come to take that final step and leave my old career behind. At 34, this is a huge life decision for me and I hope you will join me as I embark on this new and fantastic journey.

As each target goal is reached and each stage completed I will provide an update on where we are and what's next on the agenda and adjust the target goal according to the next stage. The money you donate will ultimately be used to supplement the startup and creation of a photo studio business.

Stage 1 - In Progress

At this stage I am simply looking to cover the cost of incorporating and obtaining the necessary insurance to secure the business.

Obviously, the sooner these funds reach me the better. I've been struggling to fund my art on the side and I have only been able to do so much. It will take more than I currently have to take it to the next level and your donation will help to shorten the time it would take for me to hit these goals alone. I have so many ideas and ambitions and photography is only the beginning of where I want to take it all.

So, what type of art is it exactly?

Primarily, at this point, I am a photographer, but I am also a videographer. My main focus is portrait & Wedding photography but I want to focus further on headshots and fashion photography. Additionally, I'd like to use my video skills to create custom 1-minute scenes that actors can use in their demo reels to help them get work. I have learned a significant amount about creating a video product and want to put those skills to use to build a business bundling headshots and demo reels that is unique to this area.

A final note

If you happen to know me then you know I have never been one to ask for help. I have struggled my entire life to be as self-sufficient as possible. It has both helped and hindered me along the way. It took me a long time to realize that I needed to find and reach out to people like you who understand what it's like to defer your dreams to the point where they are almost forgotten. Your donation will truly help to make my dreams more of a reality and, perhaps, inspire someone else to reach deep down inside, take out that dusty, old box of forgotten dreams and do the same.
