Keep the cocktail society alive!

The old fashioned cocktail world is dying! Bars are closing down and people are forgetting the rich history and variety of taste.

Hi everyone,

My dream is to run a cocktail bar! Up to now it has not been possible yet, because there was no space available. There is this amazing place up for sell at the moment in Delft, The Netherlands, called Luna. I have so many great ideas to turn this place into an old fashioned cocktail bar, seeing as Delft and The Netherlands in general need more bars like these. The whole classic cocktail society is dying and I would love to give it a second chance at life!

If you are really interested in donating than I would love to share who I am and what my ideas are:

I'm a woman who found her passion for cocktails when I did a cocktail course on the other side of the world in Sydney. Ever since than I am not able to stop discovering new places and recipes to broaden my cocktail knowledge. I also love every bit of the history of alcohol, from the prohibition to the gin craze to how it was discovered and made. I always wanted to start up a small warm feeling hospitality business like a b&b for instance, but after discovering the cocktail world, I want to create a cocktail bar where everyone can discover what I have discovered. A place where the history of cocktails is shared and where it can live on. A place where you can share a drink made with pasion, a place where you'll be amazed by the fire and flair that comes with the cocktail making proces.

The place I want to get is currently already a cocktailbar but I'm afraid that there is a big chance that if someone else is going to buy that place, that they are going to turn it into another restaurant. This would be so disappointing because there are already so few cocktailbars to begin with. If I would have the money to buy this bar I would change the whole place. I would have the bar placed in the back made of wood to give this warm feeling, leaving enough room behind the bar for a nice high backbar with a broad variety of liquors. This way if you walk into the bar you'll immediately get this "wow" effect. For the people who don't have that much cocktail knowledge we'll have a menu with a taste compass giving you a small overview of what your order is going to taste like. Besides this we would also have different menu combinations of cocktails with specific small bites that go great with them. These are just a few of the many ideas that I have to turn this bar around, get that old fashioned feeling back and to spur a bit of life back into the cocktail society!
