Help me upgrade my gear!

Hello!

My name is George Moyssiadis, I'm 22 and I am a pianist. I've been studying as a classical pianist for 15 years here in Athens, Greece but in the last 6 years, I started experimenting more with improvising and jazz. Today, I like to play covers, soundtracks, classical music, jazz music, improvise songs on the spot, compose and play any request by ear.

When the COVID-19 quarantine started this year (2020), I was out of a job and I started streaming on Reddit and immediately fell in love with streaming and making people happy by playing their musical requests. Today, (still out of a job because jobs are hard to get with the pandemic), I have started a Twitch channel where I currently stream regularly.

So far, my streams consist of:

• Practicing classical piano for my conservatory exams and explaining the morphology and history behind the pieces I play
• Playing my viewers requests on the spot
• Improvising

As of now, my current setup is not even close to a basic level and because audio quality is my passion as well as playing music, I want to provide the best experience for all my viewers/ listeners. Unfortunately, not having enough funds makes this extremely hard to achieve.

In the video below, I'm using a borrowed DSLR as my main camera, my phone as my overhead, a low quality microphone with a mic stand (that surprisingly didn't fall inside the piano) and a USB audio interface that is so old that my PC cannot recognize it anymore. As you can imagine the editing process for that video was quite lengthy because of the many issues the gear presented.

As you can see (and hear), even with bad gear, the results can be surprisingly okay but with the downfall that the audio editing process is very time consuming.

Here’s a list of the gear I need:

• 2 x small diaphragm condenser mics (stereo pair) so I can capture the full range of my acoustic piano
• 1 x USB Audio interface to connect all 3 mics (2 for the piano, 1 for me to talk into) to my computer
• 1 x 1TB SSD (or more) to store my music software, because my current storage is way too slow to support it
• 1 x decent Webcam (currently using phone as Webcam)
• Microphone stands, clips and cables

With your funding you will help me create better streams as well as record higher quality videos for my YouTube channel and Instagram profile and at the same time make the editing process faster.

Important note: if the funding received in the near future will not reach the set goal, I will make less and/or lower quality purchases to achieve the best result with that budget. BUT, if the funding will surpass said goal, I will make sure to make even higher quality purchases!
