Hello, my name is Elizabeth, I was born in Austria in 1994, and I lived there with my parents until I was 5 years old. In 1999 we moved to Romania and lived with my grandparents for a couple of years. In 2000 my parent bought an apartment, but it took some renovations to be livable, in 2002 the renovations were done and we moved into our house, the house that I grew up in.

My parents are Romanian, so they wanted to do something in their home country, so in 1999 when we moved to Romania my family opened a construction business. In 2011 a monastery hired them to build their roof, but after the construction was finished the monastery refused to pay them for their work. My family sued the monastery in 2012 and won, but they still refused to pay them.

Due to financial struggles, my parents took a loan from the bank and put our house as a guarantee, to be able to pay employees' salaries and to be able to survive. Unfortunately, the stress of financial instability was too much, so my parents divorced not long after, so now, I live only with my mom. After the divorce, my mom left the family business and now works for minimum wage. We consistently rescued animals so now we have 5 cats, 8 dogs, and a ferret, so my mom’s salary is going more towards our and our pets' food and necessities.

As time went on, my parents were not able to pay back the money, so the bank forecloses on them. Now someone else bought our house and we are at risk of being evicted. The person who bought the house will accept to leave us the house, but only if we can pay him an amount of money.

I know these are difficult times for everyone, but if you could spare any amount of money, we will be unimaginably grateful. Please help me save my childhood home.
