Last year my graphics card failed me. I managed to get a second hand graphics card which I currently have. But unfortunately, it has been giving me countless nights of frustration and headaches trying to troubleshoot and fix my card. The problem has been for months, the infamous Nvidia black-screen. At seemingly random points whilst i'm using the machine, it would turn to a black screen/no signal input screen. I was not even playing any games. Numerous troubleshooting attempts were made and I'm at my wits end now. I have tried using DDU in safe mode and reinstalling the driver in normal mode, reformatting my computer, using older driver versions, checking windows system files integrity, and the error persists. I also tried sending the card to ASUs for RMA and nothing was done as they claimed that the card passed all diagnostics test. Until only recently, I think I finally get an answer to these weird sightings, Asus tested and confirmed that its GPU to be incompatible with my motherboard. How lucky can I get? My motherboard supports PCIe x16 and I thought that is all it matters. Now my video card is failing and I cannot afford to put together the money to get a new one. As it stands now, my PC is randomly crashing every day. I think a good entry level card will be between a few hundred dollars.
