Help me realize my dream

After 17 years of living in an abusive relationship, I managed to get out together with my three boys. It has not been easy since I left with nothing but the clothes that we had. But we are relieved because we are no longer living in constant fear of being beaten to death. Through the years I developed a great passion of taking care anyone who was sick around me to a point that if anyone was sick I was always called upon to look after them. I would have a burden to be there for them till they get well. I stayed with my sister for a month after she had a major operation. I had a neighbour who had breast cancer and I used to take care of her especially when she had her Chemo injections visiting her daily and preparing healthy meals till she got well and she is now cancer free. During this experience I discovered that I need professional training for me to work more effectively and be able to make a better impact when I am handling a sick person. There’s so many skills and values nurses have to use on a daily basis to maintain their roles and keep a smile on the patients faces.

Because I married young, with my kids following and in an abusive relationship I had never had time to realise my dream of becoming a nurse. The fees that are requested for training is high for me to be able to pay and at the same time put food on the table for my family. Since I am living with my mother my children can stay with her while I go to school but I am appealing you help me through this difficult time, so I may be able to start my career get employed and this will help me to be able to take care of my children at the same time make a positive impact in someone else’s life.

I would love to be a Certified Nurse Assistant, even though many think it is the ‘dirty work.’ You have to start somewhere and this is where I chose to start.
