Help Me Reach My Dream and Do My Part for the World!

Hi! I am Justine, a 22-year-old from Quezon City. I have recently been presented with an exciting opportunity – the Winter Youth Assembly (WYA) at the United Nations – an annual gathering of hundreds of young people from around the world who are working in their home communities to advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The WYA will be a wonderful chance for me to connect with others in my generation to share ideas and strategies about how to go about eliminating poverty, improving rights and access for girls and women, securing environmental sustainability – among other pressing issues of our day. These issues are especially important to me. I have been promoting environmental preservation and human rights for as long as I can remember.

This is where I need your help. In order to attend the Winter Youth Assembly, I must raise $2,465 by January 5, 2018 to cover my airfare/lodging/food. I am currently striving to meet the full amount with my current job and with the act of selling my current collection that costs good value, however, I am hoping for further assistance from this community as my family has been financially struggling to help me with this as well. I have already invested much time and effort into the process and I am now looking for funding partners to help me get the rest of the way there.

Again, the amount needed is $2465, but I am hoping for assistance in around $500. I am doing other ways to raise money for it but given the time constraints, I may not be able to meet the deadline.

I hoped the community might help me raise funds and would be interested in supporting me in my effort. I know that the skills and relationships I will develop at the Winter Youth Assembly will greatly expand my ability to effect innovative change in my community – in the workplace, at home, within my peers. I see it as an opportunity to link my local efforts to advance the Sustainable Development Goals with broader, global efforts.
