Campaign Story
My name is Sonakshi Srivastava and I am a final year undergraduate student at The University of Hong Kong majoring in Comparative Literature. I undertook my undergraduate research last semester which was titled 'The Demonic Tiger: Reconstructing the Primitive in the Politics of Sundarbans Tiger Conservation'. The project's purpose is to examine the specific inter-species relationship between the Sundarbans tigers and the indigenous people through Amitav Ghosh’s novel The Hungry Tide. The project narrates the oft-neglected connections of conservationism, colonialism, class issues, and religion in contemporary Indian context.
My research has been accepted for the Second Annual Student Research Conference on Asia and the Environment at Bard College in New York. My proposal was accepted only last week and it is hard to get any kind of funding from my university on such a short notice. I can cover some of the costs from my savings but I need some urgent financial support in order to be able to attend this conference. I have kept the amount as 8,000 HKD as air travel so soon is rather expensive. Other costs include costs of train tickets, visa etc.
I plan on pursuing my studies further in Environmental Humanities, this conference is my first step into the field. I do not want to let go of this brilliant opportunity so please help me out! :)

Good luck. I'm someone a bit younger than you, and I'm giving you much of my own personal money but I want to see everyone succeed and have the chance. Also, please share this comment. Finally, to all of you people who just share and like, don't just share and like - do something. Giving away at least $40 will not hurt you.
