My name is Julia, i am 25 y.o. and from Germany.
A couple of weeks ago i started volunteering at an Elephant foundation in Thailand.
There are several street dogs who get fed every day, so was Red.
One day i walked in to start work and i got told some workers took Red to a Temple and left him there.
This is just about a death sentence in Thailand. As there are so many street dogs, dogs are very territorial and protective over that little food they get. So, often dumped dogs get killed by the dogs that live at the temple.
4 Volunteers and i made our way to the Temple the left Red at to look if he may be still alive. But it has been 2 full days for him at the temple.
As i went up to some old houses close to the temple calling for him, he came running around the corner into my arms. We all couldn`t believe we found him! Unharmed!
Then there was the question what to do with him. Certainly he couldn`t go back to the Foundation. As i fell in love with him the moment i met him, i decided i take him with me to Germany.
I knew this was gonna be a big financal desicion, as well as it changed all my travel plans. But i`ll do everything i can to make this whole process as comfortable as possible for him!
He has had his injections and has been chipped. Now there is the costs left for him to life at a dog rescue place for 2-3 months. Unfortunatly dogs who go to Germany can`t leave thailand until after a 3 months waiting period after they got chipped. They will be also costs of getting a cage for him to get on the plane and a blood test that needs to be done in an EU lab to clear him for the flight.
I have never put up a foundraising page, so that`s all new for me. But i would like to ask for a donation and sharing his story so i can get my boy savely home.
My deepest thank you to everyone for your help!
