Hello my name is Kim
I am an international student studying overseas here in Canada, Toronto. I study industrial design at OCADu, and this is my last and final year of study. I work hard to pay for my school tuition each year. With family problems, like divorce, I need to support myself. Therefore I work at Able Translations where I translate Korean to English for people in needs. But this year the university policy changed. How? Well I work over the summer and during school time, which means I pay the tuition with late fees, as that is my only option. Until last year it was 50 dollars. But starting this year there is an interest of 1.2% each month that is 84 dollars per month. It is impossible for myself to pay for rent, food, project fees, and tuition if this is the case. I talked to international and financial office provide at our school but the result was disappointing. The result was, that I am not able to be an exception with the school policy. I even asked about the rate being unfair for international students as the price if interest depends of the tuition amount, which is 3 times more than other students. The amount is way too much. Do I have to quit my studies here? Does financial issues have to stop myself from doing the things I like? Please, I need YOUR help. I want to finish my studies… I searched and found this site. The total amount that needs to be paid for school is 15383.71 Canadian Dollars, where I will be in extremely happy with any amount to go to school. This number seems impossible, but I’m trying to hold onto the branch off the cliff. I need a miracle to happen to me this time..
Thank you for having the time to read my story.
Have a good day.
