I am planning to launch a baseball YouTube channel this spring, but need help with the initial equipment costs. My goal is to have a quality product right out of the gate: HD quality video, studio lighting, proper editing software, a professional intro and outro. None of this comes cheap and unfortunately I'm not in a position to afford it all in one go.

My commitment to you, the donor, is that I will immediately begin the channel with twice weekly content, and a hope to upgrade to three times a week as the channel progresses. The content will be a mix of "Baseball for Beginners" explainers on stats, baseball history, and other fun/educational content for new and old fans alike. I will also have a regular mailbag feature to answer questions from viewers, and do other fun, unconventional posts that average about 10-15 min an episode. Ultimately, I hope to be able to add interviews and other on-location features.

This will be a channel that is fully inclusive, and aims to avoid any type of gatekeeping for the game. I want everyone to be able to speak confidently about baseball and feel like they are welcome to be fans, whether it's learning the 10-minute history of their chosen team, or finally being able to explain what the infield fly rule is. I love baseball, and want to offer this as a free opportunity for anyone and everyone to learn more about the game.

Who am I? I am a writer/editor for the SB Nation sites Bless You Boys, DRaysBay, and the social media manager for Bleed Cubbie Blue. My work has been featured at FanGraphs and the Hardball Times, and most recently in the magazine Road Grays.

I am unbelievably excited about this project, and hope you will help me make it a reality sooner rather than later. Thank you in advance for your consideration and donation!

  • I do some writing/photography covering Twins Class A affiliate Cedar Rapids Kernels and I think this sounds like a terrific idea. If there's anything I can do to help (I do have media credentials for the Kernels), just let me know.
