They say in order to make a change you need to raise your voice.

But what they never told us if not secured you could be left alone in the dust.

Hi, you can call me Leen (women), 18 years old and from New Delhi, India.

I wanted to make a change and make this world a better place for all living beings. So, I raised my voice, against psychological abuse, that has been going on for years, but what I didn’t realize my opponents were my own parents. And the fact, that they had all the authority over me and my 14 year old sister.

It all started around September 2020, I was introduced to psychology and psychological abuse. After learning about the topic for weeks from reading numerous Articles, watching various videos on You tube, Instagram, any platform you can possibly imagine, I started to notice those patterns in my own home.

I first refused to believe my parents were abusive, because, they have given me everything clothes, food, education, a roof over my head etc. etc. you know the basics.

With all of that I’ve also been given, extreme trauma, depression, low self esteem, perfectionist personality. And a suicidal sister that has attempted to take her life a few times.

And seeing all this I couldn’t stay silent anymore, I had to tell them that their habits is destructive and is hurting us tremendously. I thought they would understand and change because they’ve always been the “modern” type, but…. that did not happen. Instead of hearing us out they started to lash out on us even more than usual, called us disgusting names, even resorted to physical harm, which thank the lord didn’t last for too long. All of this has been going on for quite a lot of months now, we would fight on a monthly basis, crying, screaming, begging never seem to have any effect on them. It’s just like they didn’t want to change. And seeing that made me very furious and I also started to lash out, raise my voice a bit, which, oh well, did not go my way, at all.

And now I’m sitting in my parent’s garage with a two month notice to move out. With little to no money at hand. They demand I leave my sister behind, and that I do not wish to do and in order to get her guardianship I’m going to have to prove that I have enough to provide her and give her a better life than she is getting here (in my parents house). And that would include, the basics, food, clean clothes, a roof over her head, education expenses etc.

I already have two jobs, one online and one in “the real world”.(so, don’t worry I’m not just a dumb girl that’ll need help forever) The online job is an artistic one which might take a while to pay off and the “real job” will not be able to pay enough for the both of us.

The amount stated is not what I need right at this moment. But I do hope that I can get at least 70,000, by the mid of November, so I can move out and keep my little sister safe.

By donating you would be helping us out so much, the money that we receive from here will be saved and used wisely. Sharing will help spread awareness on the topic of psychological abuse which is seen as “the norm” in India. This will help the current and future generations to live a healthier and fulfilling life.

And in the long run if you see someone changing “the norm” consider them to be me.
