Help me help the Orphans!!

Did you know that 700 children are orphaned every day, thats a child every 2 minutes, 1/3 of these children are orphaned due to HIV/AIDS. In some regions, over 25% of the population of orphans are acutely malnourished.

I want to make a change, do you?

I am participating in a Children’s Project in Kenya – A volunteer program through Global Volunteer Network. GVN is a non-Government organization which places people in a range of opportunities such as teaching or environmental work in a number of countries. I will be working with a local organization in Kenya at an Orphanage starting in July 2014.

The goal of volunteering in Kenya is to offer underprivileged children a future. We hope to provide children with the basic necessities of life - love, food, clothing and shelter - and also provide them with an education, so they can advance towards the same opportunities as their peers around the world.

During my placement I will be caring for orphans, street children and abused children at an orphanage. I will take on the role of teacher, a carer, a sibling figure and a friend.

As GVN cannot fund volunteer’s trips, I have to independently raise this money. I have already started working hard to raise the funds needed to take up this amazing opportunity to help others. 

I would hugely appreciate any donations to help me take on this amazing challenge of helping others in less fortunate circumstances than others.

Of course, once the trip is paid off, 100% of the remaining donations will be given to the orphanage to help them even more.
