Help me help the children of Venda

My name is Sofi, I am a 20 year old student from Manchester, UK. I have recently at a short notice been accepted onto a Global Volunteer Network Program to go and volunteer in Venda for two weeks. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me, however the program is too costly for myself as a student.

Being registered disabled myself, it is not often I am provided with such an opportunity, however after seeing my determination to be a part of the program the GVN decided to offer me a place. I also consider myself as extremely lucky, although having a number of physical disabilities restricts me in a number of ways. I am constantly given the medical and social support in order to make my life as comfortable as possible. What drives me to Venda is that I see children in similar situations without the support network of family, friends, and medical professionals. The lengths a lot of the children go to just to attend school (some walk 15 km a day) really opens your eyes to how fortunate we are to have a compulsory education system which gives the opportunity to provide quality schooling for every child in the UK.

If anyone can give just a small amount towards my trip it would mean the world to me. As well as the trip costs I have to fund my flights, vaccinations, and money for necesseties such as food and water for myself while on the trip. If I am not able to raise the money at such short notice I will be unable to take my place on the trip. So please help me, to help them, and make a difference for these children.
