Help me help the children in the Balkans

Hi! My name is Debora. I originally come from Croatia. I graduated from UWC Robert Bosch College in Germany 4 weeks ago and I decided to take a gap year before I continue my studies. Recently I found out about World at Play organization which helps underprivileged children and disabled adults around Balkan peninsula through games and play time. The ethos of the charity is "every child deserves to play", and the charity is founded by Atlantic College alumni and it works with marginalized communities and refugees in Eastern Europe using sports and play. The project starts with a professional training in Atlantic College in Wales, United Kingdom where every team member will become a certified sport and play coach and from there on a team of volunteers will travel around Balkan countries (Serbia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo) for ten weeks and volunteer in refugee camps, orphanages, disability centers, Roma communities, and centers for teenagers with behavioral problems. In the last two years, I have spent a big amount of time babysitting, working in a refugee camp with children and teaching English in a German school. I was also an animator of a leadership camp in Canada last summer where I was partially responsible for a group of 75 teenagers. Throughout these two years, I realized that working with children and teenagers is my passion and one of my favorite things to do. Making a change in someone's life is one of the best feelings in the world and I want to dedicate a portion of my life to working with less privileged children and teenagers. While I was doing all these things away from home, I realized that my country and this part of the world needs me, probably even more then the countries I was previously working in. Working with my people would be such a privilege and it would be a dream come true.

To participate in a project, every volunteer needs to support the organization with £650. That amount includes a training, food, living costs and traveling around Balkans. The additional cost is my flight to Wales for a professional training and personal expenses. Unfortunately I cannot afford to pay for these expenses, therefore I need your help to be a part of this.
