Help Me Help the Children :)

Hello! A little about me, I am a U.S. Navy Veteran with a passion for children. I am currently in my last year of school before earning my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. This degree will allow me to teach pre-school through third grade. I am also a unpaid intern at a low-income school. This is kind of broad, but if you have any questions please feel free to ask. Any donations you can make will help me tremendously!  

These are the reasons I need donations...

College Fund/ Living

Due to me interning and taking several mandatory classes my schedule is very busy. Not only is my schedule very busy, but it is also crazy. That said, every place I apply to work says "I'm sorry, but we cannot work with your schedule." This makes it extremely hard to make ends meet! Honestly, I pray every month that God gives me a little miracle to help me through. Aside from making it through my basic needs of food, hygeine, and living expenses I have college to pay for. I have applied for many grants and scholarships, but have had little luck. Trust me college is not cheap. This semester alone with renting books online is about six thousand dollars. :/ Talk about crushing your dreams. I would love to continue college as I teach to earn my Masters Degree and specialize in Early Childhood Special Education (teaching those with disabilities). However, financially this dream will have to wait unless I get some miracles from this site.  

Internship

Another reason I would like to recieve donations is so I can donate. This might sound funny, so allow me to explain. I have a HUGE heart and every day I go to internship my heart crumbles into tiny little pieces. Working with children from low-income families is heartbreaking. I can relate to them, because I came from a low-income family. However, I feel like there is not much I can do to help. Many of these students will not have the money to bring snacks, supplies, or classroom cleanliness items (such as tissue, soap, and disinfecting wipes). These items are important for success. If they do not have snack they will be hungry half the day (which means they will be unattentive and not learn). If they do not have basic supplies it will be hard to teach and even harder for them to remember what was taught. If they do not have cleanliness items then there will be a rotation of sick children in the classroom. :/ These children are the sweetest and truly want to learn. I just want to show them that I do care and things will get better.

Lastly, I want to have money to use in my classroom next year. I know that I want to teach children in new fun ways. I want them to not only hear what I say but understand and want to learn more. As anything else in this world, building and maintaining a classroom is not cheap. You have heard some of my internship struggles. I also have to consider classroom furniture for my first year! Super stressful.   Please help me to help the children! By donating money today you will not only help me to finish my education, but help the hundreds of students I will teach from now until I retire. In other words bring a little hope back in the world. :)
