What happened to my best friend Pete? He was an amazingly fit man who embodied health and wellness in every sense of the words and now has been devastated by the debilitating disease called Parkinson’s.
When he met his beautiful Scandinavian partner Tanja, 13 years ago they both thought that they had hit the jackpot. They have 2 boys now, Charlie 6 yrs. old and Cohen 4 yrs. old. But as it turns out, it looks like Tanja will get the raw end of the deal if we can't help Pete beat this horrible disease.
So, for Pete’s sake please help us, at the very least by reading his story.
How did I get here on GoGetFunding.com asking people for money for my friend? I am a trainer and have been for many years. I train on communications skills and personality profiling. I did this person to person and when covid19 came along it wiped out my business. I tell you this not for your sympathy but to let you know that if my business was up and running I would not be here asking you for money. I would have raised the money myself.
So, a few years ago I met Pete and we immediately began a bromance (look it up, it’s just a deep friendship between men). Anyway, Pete and I have nearly always got on great. We have even had some minor tiffs.
In the past couple of years, Pete’s voice began to falter and his hand started to shake and he told me the devastating news that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
Me not knowing much about the condition said to Pete “we can beat this mate”. But he got worse.
I remember it well. It was one of Pete’s good days with his voice, and we were talking about the next steps for his healing. He asked me “Neil mate would you accompany me and help on this journey? There was a pause on my end of the phone and then I said, “yes mate of course I would”. Pete thought that I had hesitated but the truth is, I knew that Pete had to put his pride aside and that this took a lot for Pete to ask me. I was so overwhelmed that I was holding back the tears and that’s why I paused because that is the truth.
My friend Pete has an amazing history. He comes from a family of builders and real estate. He became a successful rugby league player in Australia (that’s a big deal down under). With all of the glory and bravado around the game, who knew that this might cause health problems later in life. Or, was it the life-threatening near-death car accident Pete had that actually ended his rugby career. Not to be put down by life Pete capitalised on his skill, strength, and knowledge. He found himself working as a Personal trainer to the rich and famous in Scandinavia.
At some point, Pete found himself and settled down into the calming pace of the Scandinavian lifestyle and became a carpenter following his family tradition. He met his beautiful partner Tanja and they have 2 lovely boys. These boys are Pete’s treasure, he always has a story about his boys (maybe too many lol).
As Pete's condition worsened, he found that the medical treatments were debilitating, ineffective and some were even addictive. Pete made the decision to go the more natural way and manage the disease with diet, exercise, and meditation. Here are some of the things that Pete has been testing that help him to manage the symptoms to a certain degree:
Mediation
Wim Hoff breathing and cold showers
CBD
Chi Machine
Structured water
Lemon water
Celery juice
Cucumber juice
Detox
Vegan diet
Fruit only diet
Infrared sauna
WuJi-gong a form of Thai Chi.
Treadmill walking, forest walking
Workout (core, balance, swiss ball, and kettlebells)
Here is the point. Rather than let the medication put him on his back, this lion of a man wants to face this disease on his terms, and that is why he is testing as many natural treatments as possible in the hope of finding the one that works for him.
Pete is now certain that he has found it.

Pete found Loren Lockman of Tanglewood Wellness Centre in Costa Rica on a YouTube video and started a deep dive into Loren’s therapy.
Pete’s voice. We meet at least once a week on our brotherhood calls and as the brotherhood leader Pete finds it hard because some weeks his voice lets him down and he cannot contribute. Sometimes I miss Pete because since he moved from Sweden to Norway the phone is the only way to communicate and his voice does not let him do that for much of the week.
Pete’s tremors made it impossible to work as a carpenter, therefore, cutting his income completely. This has also severely restricted what he can do on the computer and this is where his friend Neil comes in, me.
Pete’s Insomnia, I think is a very serious problem as so much healing happens in R.E.M. sleep and Pete’s is not getting much R.E.M. sleep.
When Pete first told me about Tanglewood, I asked him if there was anywhere closer that that did the same treatment. I checked myself and call treatment centres all over Europe and non, not one came close and some were even more expensive. So, then I call Loren Lockwood at Tanglewood in Costa Rica and spoke to him for an extended period of time. I asked as many questions as I could and even some tough questions. Loren answered all of my questions with ease, honesty and integrity. He seems to be the real deal and a major hope for Pete.
At Tanglewood Wellness Center they specialise in a unique form of water fasting and also a unique refeeding program. The treatment has been perfected since 1993 by successfully water fasting more than 3000 people from all over the world.
The treatments, workshops and consultations are scheduled, organised, structured, and well supported to ensure that each person gets the most effective results.
Each person gets onboarded with a detailed consultation and the treatment is then specifically tailored for them. The treatment is then monitored and adjusted if necessary for maximum effect, and that is why Tanglewood and Loren are so successful. I truly believe that Pete has made the right choice because he has done his due diligence and research. Now if you can help Pete, he can continue on his journey back to health and live a long, happy, healthy life bringing up his boys and supporting Tanja.
Why Fasting? Fasting has been around for thousands of years and has been used to treat many ailments. 2 of the world’s most reputable medical libraries, Pubmed and the Lancet, have over 160000 research papers written on all kinds of fasting. The renowned, prestigious researcher Dr Michael Mosley who is famous for his tv documentaries on fasting says that when we fast, we change our cell function from replicating to repairing. Therefore, allowing the body to heal itself and this might be the knowledge Loren at Tanglewood has focused in on. Loren said to me on one of our calls that when we get everything out of the way of the body it will heal itself. In Pete’s case he recommends the 10 week fasting program but if we do not get enough funding then the 6 week fasting program will be a great start.

Pete and I are both very proud men. As I said earlier, had my business been operating I would not be here asking for money for Pete and I know if Pete were able to work we would not be here asking for money. Now we have to put our pride aside for Pete’s sake.
We are asking for €21500. This will take care of our airfare, special insurance's, visas, and treatments at Tanglewood. Because of lack of R.E.M. sleep, pain, and discomfort, Pete sometimes suffers with anxiety. He is therefore not able to travel alone and that is why I will be there with him and following the same regimen. This makes better sense than just staying locally and visiting Pete. It is nearly the same money so why not be there on campus at Tanglewood and following alongside while holding my friend's hand along the way.
One thing I can assure you of is that this is no holiday for me. I have my own life and this will take 10 weeks away from home, loved ones, and an online business that I am starting. I am telling you this not for pity but just to let you know that I am all in for Pete my friend.
As much as Tanja would love to support Pete, she cannot go because of Charlie and Cohen and it goes without saying that even if she could go and take the boys, there would be that extra expense.
If you know Pete like I know Pete, he is an amazing human being, he is the embodiment of his catchphrase “Think Strong”. I for one do not want to see my friend get worse and I am doing what I can to help and I hope for Pete’s sake you can do something too. Please donate what you can.
This one thing is Pete’s wish “IT IS MY HEARTFELT DESIRE FOR MY BOYS THAT THEY GROW UP WITH A FIT, FUNCTIONAL AND PRESENT FATHER. I BELIEVE THAT THIS UNIQUE FASTING METHOD IS THE WAY TO REGAIN MY FUNCTION AND HEALTH”.
Let us all help and make Pete’s wish come true.
Thank you so much for already helping by reading Pete’s story.
And as Pete always says “KEEP SMILING”
Lots of LOVE to you and your family Pete.
Neil...
