In April 2016, I will be embarking on my first animal health care project to St. Lucia with The Canadian Animal Assistance Team members and volunteers.
We will provide spay/neuter services, vaccine/deworming care and as well as humane education programs for both children and adults t work toward long-term positive changes!
I have been an active member of this organization by fundraising for their supplies and cost on these wonderful trips.
I would like to take this opportunity to raise funds to help me cover flight travel cost as well as donating any donations over my goal amount to The Canadian Animal Assistance Team!
Read below, for more information on The Canadian Animal Assistance Team!
The Canadian Animal Assistance Team (CAAT) is a registered Canadian charity organization founded in 2005. CAAT provides spay/neuter services, vaccine/deworming care as well as humane education programs for both children AND adults to work toward long-term changes.
They provide these services in communities that cannot access veterinary care. Often, this is due to the remoteness of the community or the fact that community members are very low-income.
Our goal is to bring much needed veterinary care right to the animals in need.
Our team consists of veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants and educators that volunteer their time and expertise to set up and run our Animal Health Care Clinics. Our temporary clinics are set up right in the community which allows all animals access to the care they need.
CAAT’s Animal Health Care Projects are the core of our work. Our teams travel to the location where we are needed and set up a temporary field hospital right in the community. Our volunteer teams work from 3-14 days (depending on the location) and provide the services needed to animals that would otherwise not have access to veterinary care.
The Canadian Animal Assistance Team is a volunteer-driven program. Our ability to provide veterinary services and education is entirely dependent upon the dedication and hard-work of our members. Our members assist in everything from fund raising, serving on one of our committees, assisting with promotion to donating their time and skill sets in serving on our animal health projects.
