Hello,
My name is Denisha Killoh and I'm a 1st year politics student at the University of Strathclyde.
Last year, I discovered the organisation Plan My Gap Year, which offers projects in multiple destinations across the developing world, that allow volunteers to not only embrace new cultures but also make a difference where it matters the most.
In July 2016 I went on a three-week orphanage volunteering programme in Sri Lanka, which became an experience that changed my whole outlook on life. Being able to engage in a new society and see firsthand how far even the smallest acts of kindness can go for those that are less privileged than others was a massive eyeopener.
Ever since coming back from Sri Lanka, my passion for continuing to step outside my comfort zone to help impact the lives of others has only increased. This has led me to decide to go to Bali for a 4-week childcare project on the 14th of July.
In order to help fund this, I have set up this page with the target of raising £400 to help cover my programme fee. I'm grateful for any donations I receive, and they will be going directly towards the trip.
