Help me help Dreamy!

I'm creating this crowdfunding campaign to help me raise money for my cat Dreamy, who many of you will know. For the last 12 years, Dreamy has been my best and most consistent friend. Over the last 9 months he has been developing health problems. The symptoms include fits of unproductive hacking, what sounds like congestion in his chest, vomiting, and hoarseness when he meows (anyone who knows him knows he has a big mouth).

I have taken him to the vet multiple times and was first told that it was probably just hairballs but his condition has gotten worse over the last few months and seems to be continuing to worsen. The last two times I have taken him to the vet they have recommended expensive tests. I recently graduated from college and moved to Portland, Oregon. I've only recently found work here and haven't yet been able to raise enough money to have him tested. Couple this with being hounded to start paying off my school loans and things have gotten pretty stressful financially. I had hoped to use my tax refund to pay for these much needed tests but now my return is on hold for 60 days for some reason and I'm worried that if his health gets any worse it may be too late.

Any of you who know me well will know that I have a hard time asking for help. I feel very uncomfortable with the idea of doing this but at this point, can see no other way forward. I'm asking for your help in getting to the bottom of what is ailing Dreamy. On top of the aforementioned health concerns, he badly needs his teeth cleaned and to have some of them extracted. As any of my fellow pet lovers know, this is all very expensive. I'm sending the call far and wide and asking for your help. Please feel absolutely no pressure to contribute unless you want to and have the financial means to do so. I'd hate to think that anyone felt pressured to contribute or was contributing money that they needed. I know times are hard out there and many of us are just scraping by.
