Help Me Help Children In Nicaragua

Hello World! My name is Tracy Parker and I have been an English teacher for the past 27 years of my life. Teaching grades from 3rd all the way up to seniors in high school I've always had a passion for teaching the English language to all of my students! As many of you know the English language is one of the most wide spread languages of the world along with Arabic and Chinese. It is a very important language to know if you want to be a "person of the world".

I am volunteering to travel to Managua, Nicaragua for 6 months to teach some of these beautiful children the language of English. Using my second language of Spanish, I will be able to educate these children in a way that they have never had the opportunity to receive. I will be teaching children from the ages of 13 up to 16 years old. These children have been chosen to be a part of the program I am involved with because they have shown the aptitude to learn a second language as complicated as English and are believed to be some of Nicaragua's brightest children. This is such a cool opportunity that I am SOOO proud to be a part of.

Managua is the captial of Nicaragua and where I will be spending 6 months of my life start February 2nd. So for this fund raiser I am hoping to raise at least $7500 to help me pay for the expenses of living in the capital city for 6 months including apartment rental, transportation within the city, flight to and from Nicaragua, food, etc. I am completely doing this on a volunteer basis and unfortunately a teachers salary is not enough to cover this kind of venture. So please help me help these bright students of Nicaragua!
