Help me go to the university!

Hi, I’m Siska! I am originally from Sumatera. My dad is from Nagore Atjeh Darusallam and my mom is from West Sumatera. I have been living in Bali since 2017, working in the tourism and hospitality industry after I graduated with a diploma in Hospitality Management.

I have a lot of dreams…one of these is to continue my studies in University. At 23 years old, it was my last chance to enter University. So in 2019, I decided to apply for a University in East Jawa and I was accepted for 2020-2024 terms. My plan was to work for one year before starting classes to save money to pay for my educational expenses, however, that all changed when the Covid-19 pandemic arrived. Unfortunately, the plan fell through when I was laid off from my primary job. I survived until second semester with a temporary job but eventually, I had no choice but to return home, back to my village. I have an idea to generate some income from my family’s candlenut farm, but it will take some time.

I will not give up on my dream to continue my studies because for me, education is important. Since returning home, I started a project to support the education of the children around my village. I lead workshops focused on reading, creativity, and general knowledge. My dream is to compete my Business Creation degree so I can create a sustainable business in my village. Since Indonesia is an agrarian nation, I would like to support the local farm with tourism and hospitality that also gives back to the local kids and community. I am looking for sponsors to help me pay my University tuition fees so I can make these dreams become a reality. I am happy to share more about my village, my goals and my focus of study.
