Help me get to New York Film Academy and achieve my dream!

Living and studying in New York has always been a dream. I grew up seeing New York in film – watching the places, the people, the diverse culture from a screen – and I have always aspired to closely experience the city for myself. This year, I aim to push my boundaries further by unlearning my advertising training and reshaping my thought process to be able to create content that will be worthy of attention. I want to represent the Filipinos in the Hollywood film industry. Getting accepted in New York Film Academy is a personal achievement of its own.

I come from a middle-class family in a province in the Philippines. Ever since I was a kid, my father has been working hard to provide for all of us – and he has succeeded in doing that. He was able to give us a comfortable life and send us to Metro Manila, the country’s capital, to study college in a prestigious university. After graduation, I have tried to live off my hard earned money but my father continues to support me whenever needed. He has always wanted the best for each of us and he will do anything to help me achieve a lifelong dream. Unfortunately, we are not very well-off and given the amount that needs to be paid, my parents will not be able to give me financial support for the full tuition. Without your help, it will be near impossible for me to enroll in the institution.

I had already tried applying for discounts and grants, and after everything, it still amounts to more or less $40,000. As for my living expenses, I plan to use my personal savings. While studying, I also plan to work part-time so I have money to spend for rent and other daily expenses. I have relatives in the city who I can live with while I adjust to the life in New York.

This has always been my dream and it took me 26 years to take a step towards it. I know it will be a hard and rigid path, but I am determined and motivated to make this happen.
