Help Me Get To BinderCon!

Update posted by Lauren On Oct 10, 2014

We made it! Well, you all made it happen! Thank you, a million times, thank you!

I am so relieved, which is quite welcome given my nerves over my two pitches set for Sunday. I'm about to finish packing and go through my checklist one last time. I cannot wait for tomorrow, and none of this would have been possible without your generosity.

I will be tweeting from BinderCon, and following up with a handful of blog posts. This fundraiser will stay active for another few weeks. I had set it up that way in case I didn't raise enough to cover my immediate costs. If you donated and requested a perk, those will be sent out in the coming weeks. I'll leave those perks as an option, should anyone be interested in those before the page closes.

I cannot express my gratitude. My night & weekend has been made.

Thank you to everyone who has spread the fundraiser and to those who have helped out. I cannot express my appreciation properly.

I am thrilled that my transportation & parking costs are now covered! YAY!! That is a HUGE relief. I'd still love to reach my goal, so that food, childcare, and incidentals are covered.  I'm leaving the fun open for a couple weeks after BinderCon, in the event I don't make it to my goal. It would still be a relief to have funds come in after the fact.

I'm filled with anticipation and a lot of nerves for this weekend! I am sure I will be an absolute mess tomorrow night into Saturday morning. Hopefully by the time I register, I will have calmed down a bit. I look forward to all the great workshops and panels, and most of all, to hopefully making some new friends.

Thanks again for all your support!!

Hi everyone. I've been busy working on my pitches. I'm nervous and excited all at the same time. I have one piece in particular that I'm passionate about, working on it this week has been invigorating.

My youngest has been having some difficulties lately, and I was unsure for a while last week whether I would make it to BinderCon at all. I'm now taking my kids to the city with me (we'll be up & at 'em by 5am on Saturday!) so that if anything happens, I'm a few minutes away, not two hours. This is a relief, but also makes my plans trickier, and financial needs a bit higher. It is more important now than ever that I get some more funds in my pocket before Saturday. Their train tickets, food, etc. add a lot on to my budget.

I lost a job opportunity (not in the creative field, this was tech-related) over the weekend. I was so upset. I'm determined to look at it as something that was meant to be. Now I have this week to focus my energy on BinderCon and my speed-pitches. I'm hopeful.

Your contributions, of any amount, and spreading the word to others, means the world to me. I'll continue to update, and look for tweets & posts over the weekend from the conference!
