Help me get to Africa

Where I will be going and what I will be doing:

I have been offered a once in a life time opportunity to volunteer in Kynsna, South Africa for 5 weeks, during the time I am in South Africa I will be engaging with the homeless and general Community and more specifically working with local Pre-Schools doing a variety of activities, helping the homeless at local community centre’s, and organising and putting events into action for the locals and helping them to get involved and enjoy the experience.

I will be volunteering with the 'Edge Of Africa' programme, which I would encourage anyone to do.

I want to help the community: I've always wanted to help the community and it's been something I've always been passionate about. I feel it is important to give back to the world and offer my experience and culture to those who are more curious about it. I want to help the community also because I believe that beautiful bonds can be created and sometimes even little stems of hope and faith can be brought into the lives of people who sometimes may feel let down by both their environments and the harsh hand that they have been dealt with in life. I find all cultures and communities beautiful as it makes people one, it creates bonds and strenghts like no others and seeing that from another country will show me how beauty the world and joining a new community can be.

My benefit

During my 5 weeks learning in Africa I will meet some amazing people that will all help me to develop into a mature individual who is self confident due to seeing what I have achieved and mentally gone through as well as someone who knows more about the world and has real life experiences to relate to and learn from in another country.

It will help me to grow up and encourage me to see new and unfamiliar places and how to navigate in environments that are outside of my comfort zone. Along with all of this it will teach me invaluable life skills and help me to develop those that I already have from Time Management, to budgeting and leadership, it will have a great benefit on my future.

Where you come in:

This money will be for my Flights, accomodation over 5 weeks and food during my 5 weeks in Kynsna.

Without your support for funding I will not be able to acheive my goal to help those in need and give my bit back to the world. 

What's in it for you:

I will be updating my blog at: www.rumercooper.wordpress.com daily. Keeping all those that donate in the loop. Along with this I will take a photo of the wildlife/community etc for those individualls who donate to this great cause. If you inbox me what you'd like me to try and capture I will try my best to do it for you. Along with this I will try to upload video blogs of my experiences there and give you the chance to experience Africa with me.
