I am one of the select few youth from 52 developing countries to be selected for Kectil leadership program conference that will take place in Atlanta Georgia in the United States from 20th July through July 26th.The Program sponsors our travel, food and accommodation . I am struggling to put together the attire and traditional clothing that I will need for my duration in the conference.
I am the only young leader who has been selected from Lesotho who will be representing Lesotho. It’s very unfortunate that I find it difficult to extend my hand for assistance to my government once more because of multiple rejected proposals and the recent political and financial state undertaking, however I am expected to represent my country in this coming weeks, July 20th through July 26th.
I am in need of a large Flag, reason being I want to live a visible mark where I stand, and I want to fly it high to portray a line of hope for a better Lesotho that I and my fellow youth want and need. To show other people that in the mist of it all, I still find courage and strength to be a beacon of hope for our country and for future generation to learn to do the same.
A large flag costs M1800 which is equivalent to $130. I also need a traditional attire, preferably Seshoeshoe dress which costs M750 - 800 ($55), The Basotho blanket which is M1200 ( $82), Basotho hat ( Mokorotlo) which costs M150 ($34) and pocket money for my travel and my stay in Atlanta, which any donation amount will be much appreciated. This totals to M4,406 or $301 minus pocket money.
I understand that my needs maybe somewhat expensive, especially for someone of my manpower. But this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and such opportunities are extremely rare and not easy to find. I hope to attend this conference with all the necessary and needed packages that I mentioned and I hope you will be a reason I represent my country with a smile. Without worrying about anything but how well my presentation will be. And how grateful I will be with your help.
I will be so grateful for your assistance and your generous donations will be my honorary mentions on my conference journey-takeover that I will start on my Facebook account from July 18th through 27th , which will be the date for my return home. It will also be crafted on our Rotaract Club Maseru Facebook page as well as on our website as I will be representing Rotaract Club Maseru as well at the conference.
