I am seeking to get assistance with regards to funding in order to buy laptops for grade 7 students at my former primary school. The name of the Primary School is called Chivhu Primary School. This school is located in the Mashonaland West province of Zimbabwe and is located in a small town called Chivhu. The small town is along a the Harare-Beitbridge highway. Half of the parents who take their children there can barely put food on the table as the average parent earns less than $50 per month. Unfortunately their major source of income is selling food and drinks to buses that will be passing through the highway. However this has also been made difficult as borders are closed and most of the cross border buses no longer pass through as much.
I understand that it might be a milestone to equip every single child with a laptop, as on average there are more than 35 children in a class. However, it is possible that they might share the ones that we manage to get them. The laptops will belong to the school and the teachers will be responsible for grouping children who stay close to each other,
The initiative is meant to give the students a chance to compete with other better funded schools in the capital during the pandemic, as they can use the laptops at home in groups, whilst also accessing school information.
Kindly assist in any way possible. If you are unable to donate a simple share can go a long way in assisting the students at Chivhu Primary School.
