Campaign Story
My goal for years has been to get my degree from MUN, and travel abroad to teach english in Japan. I am about 10-13 courses away from that goal now, and have been making great progress in the past year and a half. But here's the deal, after having endless issues with both Canadian and Newfoundland student loans programs through the entirety of my time through MUN, I'm hitting a financial wall at this point in my degree, so I've decided to see if I can try a new way of paying my way through the rest of my education.
I decided to reach out to my family and friends, friends of friend, anonymous benefactors, and genius billionaire playboy philanthropists (with or without big suits or armour, i'm not picky), in the hopes that with the combined generousity and maybe a little bit of internet luck, I might be able to pull this off and live the dream of teaching overseas that I've worked so hard to reach.
The $2000 I am hoping to raise will cover the costs of two semesters' tuition and texts, which will put me to practically the end of my degree. I'm not looking for a free ticket here, just hoping to alleviate some of the pain of the skewed student loan program that has been putting me through the ringer so I can focus more on my studies rather than worrying where my next tuition's funds are coming from or if they are going to be revoked halfway through the semester again.
I have this event set to end on the last day to drop courses for a full refund for the upcoming summer semester, as I will be (and have been) doing a full course load all through the summer as well. Without this, and with the current status of my student loan situation, I will have to skip the summer semester entirely (which will cause a whole new slew of problems with student loan qualification).
As thanks for your support, I have a few tiers of rewards listed to give a little back to all of you! Aside from that, know that even a donation of a dollar will mean a lot to me, every little bit counts, and knowing that someone took the time to donate even that one dollar will take a small worry off my mind!

I will climb Mt Fuji, and mail a personalized postcard to you from the summit! You will literally have helped me achieve the height of success! (This will be a time-delayed reward, but I promise to keep track of and fulfill the mailings when I get there.)
We will arrange a time and I will make and serve sushi for you, whatever type you like (subject to ingredient availability). (people local to my area only please, I don't want to be flying to Oregon or something for this.)
I will track down and mail to you a token/souvenir/charm of your favourite Japanese fandom upon my arrival in Japan, along with a personal postcard! With all the quirky awesome stuff that comes out of Japan, who knows what I will end up finding!!
Holy crap, you really want me to get to Japan, don't you!? For this donation, I will travel to and compose a photo-journal of any location in Japan of your choosing! (As with the postcards, this will be a time-delayed reward, but I'll keep you updated on my status and let you know when to expect my departure for adventure!)

I understand your pain with our horrible student aid program :( By the way, I'm choosing to receive the reward because if you're ever famous then I'm in luck ;) But can I have earrings instead?
