Hello, my name is Erick, 36 years old and I'm from Venezuela. I wanted to give this a try and see if there's still hope to get somewhere near my dream. Which perhaps isn't the most ambitious but it would certainly fulfill my life at this point. So, I live in a country where hyperinflation is ridiculous. Minimum wage here is worth nothing (roughly 2$ a month) and it makes you pretty much unable to invest in anything that isn't related to basic needs like food, health and services if anything at all. I been trying to deal with the situation in my country for years. My family helps me but I do want to help them as well. Depression has also kicked in hard because of this. The lack of opportunities and countless stuff you realize you are missing do really take a toll in your mind. However I try my best to keep it at bay. Resilience has been the key and since the political situation does nothing but thrive towards doom I decided I must stop working for miserable salaries and do my own thing which is designing. I have always enjoyed creativity. Art. The stuff that triggers our imagination when you first take a glance at it. Music, movies, games, they have always been my escape from an environment that grows more and more oppressive every day.
This is what brought me here. One day I realized that I should do what always triggered my dreams. Editing stuff, images, flyers, posters, videos. I do own a pc but it's old and I'm talking BC-old. Ancient computer. I somehow managed to get a non official copy of Photoshop and started learning it online. It quickly grew in me to the point I think there isn't a day that I don't want to open it and edit anything I see here and there. So why wouldn't I learn it and try working online gigs? That's the plan actually, The problem is, most features like rendering and creating 3D art requiere a competent PC which my own is far from being. I mean I'm still amazed that I was able to install this basic version of Photoshop in the first place.
My goal is to gather a decent amount to afford an used but still capable, less dated computer that will allow me to carry on with my dream. I want to learn everything about this amazing program and turn my life around. Work for me and my family and still do what I love. I think is never too late to chase our dreams, whatever they are, no matter how complicated your life is, as long as there's motivation and passion invested, it'll be worth it. Can I count on you to help me make it happen?
My most honest appreciation for reading this.
