Help me further the Kingdom of God by serving others

After much prayer and consideration, the Lord has led me to take part in a Discipleship Training School (DTS), through Youth With a Mission (YWAM). From the 9th of January through May 28th of 2016, I will be attending the Compassion DTS in Mazatlan, Mexico. The first three months of the course is considered the lecture phase, where we will be learning about topics including: the character and nature of God, hearing Gods voice, repentance and forgiveness, fear of The Lord, spiritual warfare, the person of The Holy Spirit, evangelism, the person of Jesus and the cross, world mission, transformation and so much more. During this time we will also partner with believers of Mexico’s communities to disciple and bring hope to overlooked neighborhoods within the area. The fourth and fifth months of the program involve outreach missions where we will bring the Gospel to the nations. The program as a whole is designed to help the other students and I come to know God and make Him known. I will get hands on experience through the Homes of Hope Ministry and help to show Christ’s love amidst poverty. I am excited about the experiences that lie ahead and I trust that God will prepare me for this journey. However, I would like to offer you the opportunity to be a part of it in the following ways. First, I ask for your support through prayer and that you please pray for the health, protection and unity among my fellow students and I. I ask that you pray for the communities that we visit. Please pray that I will be sensitive and obedient to God’s leading and that I will be effective in my ministry to help God change both my life and the people that I will meet along the way. Finally, I ask for your prayer that God will provide me with the resources for this trip. Your prayers will fuel my success on this mission as I allow God to work through me in order to show His love to others.

The second way you can support me is financially. The tuition for the lecture phase of the course is $4400 and is due before the course starts. This includes my room and board at the campus, the classes I will be attending and transportation within Mazatlan during this phase. The outreach phase will cost anywhere from $2500-$5000, depending on the location. This portion of tuition is due 6 weeks into the course. This price includes any transportation from Mazatlan to the outreach location, travel costs within the outreach location, activity expenses and room and board. I also need to pay for my roundtrip flight from Saskatoon to Mexico, approximately $1500. I currently have $4000 to put toward the DTS and am actively saving. However, if God has laid it upon your heart to support me financially, I would greatly appreciate your sponsorship.
