Who am I?...
Hi I'm Rosa, i'm 24 and am thrilled to have an opportunity to teach children from a completely different walk of life.
I choose to volunteer at a monastery as I have always been inspired by the dedication and commitment Buddhist monks choose to live by.
It would be more than rewarding to meet many of the young Buddhists making this commitment at such a young age in order to have the chance of a better life.
What will I do in Nepal?
I will be spending 3 weeks in a Nepalese monastery teaching kids english, maths and science.
The majority of the children at the monasteries are Tibetan refugees and impoverished children from ethnic hill tribes. Becoming a monk offers many children the chance of a better life.
How will I fund-raise?
I wanted to do something directly linked to helping children and am volunteering one day a week in a charity shop 'Save the Children' up until I depart for Nepal on February 7th 2016.
I will be working in the Wandsworth 'Save the Children', come and say hello!
