Minja’s Transgender Surgery

Hello everyone! My name is Minja, and I'm from Serbia, Mladenovac. I was born in Belgrade on May 26, 2003. I grew up in Mladenovac, with my mom, and brother, without father because he died in a car accident. Throughout my life, I always knew I was different, but I didn't know why. Since I was 5 years old I felt like a girl, but I was born a boy. So when I was 10 years old I found out that I'm transgender. I was bullied a lot in school, and I was never accepted by people in my town. I selfharmed for a whole year, and then visited a psychiatrist with my mom, for the first time. They diagnosed me 3 different diagnoses.

1) F92.0 (Dissordo morum depressivus)

2) F64 (Transsexualism)

3)F32.1 (Major depressive disorder, single episode, moderate)

I went to endocrinologist too.

I was observed by my doctors for 1 whole year, so I got my documents (proofs) that I'm trans, but I can't start my hormone replacement surgery until i turn 17. (I'm 16 now.)

I'm not able to finish my transition on my own, because I can't find a job in Serbia, because I'm trans, and most people don't accept it here, it's almost impossible to find a job, so that's the reason why the most of transgender women in Serbia are prostitutes. I don't wanna end up being one of them. Also, my mom lost her job 2 weeks ago so it's hard to survive now.

I am asking you for as much as you can give. Even if you might think that your donation is small, it will be enough to change my life to become who I am.

I'm fundraising for my hormone replacement therapy, and gender confirmation surgery, which I plan to finish when I turn 19.
