I am working as a volunteer with some elderly people, and few of them are driving bike, we were in chat to organize a small group driving bike together.

Some were very kind of this, but some thought they may have lost the balance.

To over come this problem and test wise I would like to fundraise one of this Bike to try with the very interested one.

If this become a sucess I am looking into organizing a Community Group and order more of this, and will have to open another fundraising campain for it. Maybe looking in a more collective Bike riding Vehicle like a Beer Bike without beer, just to motivate people biking collectively.

here is my project and my goals:

Wellbeing and Sporting activities for Elderly and mixed ages people wanting to exercise in Waikanae Area.

The project should developpe wellbeing and sporting activities for (mostly) elderly or other mixed ages people who are interested to exercise in a smooth & gentle way.

What affects our wellbeing?

Factors that affect our health and wellbeing. The social, economic, cultural and physical environment in which people live their lives has a significant effect on their health and wellbeing.

Why health and wellbeing are important?

Wellbeing is not just the absence of disease or illness. It is a complex combination of a person's physical, mental, emotional and social health factors. Wellbeing is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction. In short, wellbeing could be described as how you feel about yourself and your life.

What is wellbeing in sport?

Promoting good mental health and wellbeing. Sport is an integral part of our community and can play a significant role in promoting the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing.

How can sport help you?

The Benefits of Participating in Sports. Playing sports helps you stay in shape, teaches you how to organize your time, boosts friendships, and builds relationships with your peers.

What are the social benefits of physical activity?

Social Benefits. As your emotional health and self-esteem improves, your social relations may also improve. You may be more likely to reach out to others due to your increased self-confidence. Also, participating in a sport or bicycling class will introduce you to new people that share a common interest.

What are the mental benefits of physical activity?

Exercise is also one of the most effective ways to improve your mental health. Regular exercise can have a profoundly positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. It also relieves stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts overall mood.

Here are some of the benefits that physical activity can offers to this range of people:

It strengthens the heart. The heart is a muscle. ...

It helps keep arteries and veins clear. ...

It strengthens the lungs. ...

It reduces blood sugar levels. ...

It controls weight. ...

It strengthens bones. ...

It helps prevent cancer. ...

It regulates blood pressure.

Here a small story from Gene and Jan enjoying privatly this type of exercising and wellbeing that a quadracycle is able to do for them. Ref” http://www.thevillagesdailysun.com/news/villages/article_21055244-a774-11e4-a808-c3d21db60fa4.html?mode=image&photo=0

Two of four people can enjoy a ride together, it is gentle on the joints, no pain was experienced, a quadracycle does not require as much effort as a regular bike, but still is a way to get some exercise; people can sit in a comfortable position, and are able to gear down without really pushing themselves; an ideal way to keep people active in our community mostly based on elderly people, other age classes are welcome to join.

This is the project I am looking to developpe, but first I have to see if this will work, and will first open this personal Fundraising campain for Test Tandem Bike for 4 people and see if this will bring the expected interest.

I know that these Bikes are also existing in New Zealand, so if the founder of these types of Bikes in New Zealand would like to help us (part/full fundraising for this project it is welcome). Fundraising must not always come in money but maybe in material like been given one of this Bike as a sponsorhip funding for example also welcome....Please set yourself in contact with Sylvie

And if we get fundraising in material, we may use the fundraised money for a Public Liability type of insurance, I will have to find as well out if this type of Bikes will be accpted here on cyclebar ways or on road and which safety and security issues we will have to compile with.

If they are people out there knowing these types of issues, and feel that they can help; please don't hesitate to contact Sylvie as well.

If this project die in his shell, the funded materail will be given back to the founder, for the money we will give it back minus the costs occasioned by the setting of this group with all accounted details.
