Help Me Finish Medical School

I began my journey as a medical student in 2018, hopeful that regardless of my humble socioeconomic background I would have been able to pull through. Unfortunately, due to issues posed by the pandemic I am unable to produce the funds I would need to complete this academic year. For the past three (3) years I have been blessed through the support and charity of both private and governmental institutions. However, with the economic fall out currently being experienced some of these generous entities have had to withdraw funding allotted to charitable causes. This resulted in beneficiaries (such as myself) seeking funding from alternative sources for at least this academic year of my degree program.

In addition to this the Jamaican dollar has plummeted in recent months rising from a baseline of about $1.00USD to $125.00JMD to $1.00USD to $155.00JMD. With a tuition quoted as $28,000.00 USD this amounts to about $4,340,000.00 JMD of which the Student’s Loan Bureau only offers $1,000,000.00JMD. Thanks to the kindness of my remaining benefactor and the financial contribution of my family I have managed to obtain an additional $1,000,000.00JMD. Despite the greatest efforts of myself, my remaining sponsor and immediate family I have a remaining shortfall of about $14,000.00USD. In addition to this $14,000.00USD the faculty has decided to not provide certain accommodations and facilities resulting in an additional $2,000.00USD in fees.
