I am a retired disabled army pensioneer and live for many years in Philippines with my wife Ann. I also knew her mom and family for all these years too. They lived in a slum in Manila. Mamma Mina used to work three jobs, in a junk yard, selling flowers in the street and as a cleaning lady, to raise on her own the family's kids. Ann's brother, Ryan, is 15 and autistic, never attended school. Her nephew of 3 has brain palsy. With Ann we financed Ryan's evaluation and therapy, but in Manila it is very hard to find affordable schools for kids with special needs and as Ryan cannot do anything without Mamma Mina on his side, her jobs would have been in jeopardy. So we decided to take them with us, as in Subic Bay area, there are a few public schools dedicated to kids with special needs. As I am not young anymore and that I will forcely die and let them on their own, I try to do my best to ensure a safe future for all of them. For this, I bought two years ago a lot in forestry area and began to work it, to start a small farm with gardening business. We even had to build a tar road to access it ! Then, we had to drill a deep well (that also helps our neighbours in drought's times), and connect the property to the power grid. We had to landscape the whole lot for gardening, fenced the property and then built a concrete garage, in order to protect all the tools we use for the building now. We have planned a small house to shelter all of us, three adults and three kids, which will cost us around 25'000 us dollars. Then I would like to go solar and wind because of the always increasing price of electricity, that they won't be able to afford when I am not anymore around. Solar will cover most of the farm needs but we'll need a bit of windmill power too, as in rain season and typhoon season, sun's cover decreases a lot... I have already planned the financing of the house, but it includes a big loan from a local bank, and if anything happens in the meantime, Ann would have to sell away the whole to reimburse the bank ! To finish this, if I am using Go Fund Me to help, is because I finance all of this on my disability pension, which is far to be enough for all of this ! I also have a deadline as in three years I will lose this pension to pass on retirement allowance which is even way less, and I won't be able to invest anymore... So please ! Even one dollar helps !!!

Will our campaign take off ?

Update posted by Patrick George JENNY at 08:31 pm

In these difficult times of pandemy, we are now facing even more challenges ! The financial circuits have completely collapsed... Administrations do not pay what they owe us, and a loan that I had succeeded to secure through a friend is blocked in Europa, again thanks to administrations !On top,. . . . .
