Help me Feed Street Children in Pier 3 on my Birthday

Update posted by Shane De La Cruz On Aug 06, 2018

We did the feeding and it was super fun yet exhausting, fulfilling and life changing at the same time. Again, I would like to say thank you to all who made this possible.

My sister cooked the noodles and chicken lumpia, while I prepared the dessert and rice. Choco balls for dessert! One of my favorites. :)

On our way to the Pier. So we prepared a meal for 100 kids. I made 300 choco balls, so we can give them 3 each, then we fried 100 lumpia, 3 kilos of fried noodles, 5 kilos of rice and brought 100 packs of juice.

We went there, expecting that there's going to be a lot of kids. We know there will be super many kids there now.

My helpers in distributing the foods to the kids. We gave out 100 tickets as well so that there will be no chaos during the distribution. But oh boy, we were wrong.

People flocked around us as soon as I start giving out the tickets. It was even scary. Some guys came in asking for ticket, although we have to calmly tell them that our priority are the kids. Luckily, Marivic, the lady in blue and her mother, the lady with white hair, helped us in the distribution and crowd control (although they are barely under control.)

The last portion of the food. All the tickets are out and we only have very few of the food left, but we decided to give it out until it all run out. We already ran out of paper plates so we have to use the plastic bags. :-(

Even though we've already given out everything, there are still kids who weren't very lucky. Oh, how I hoped we could have prepared for more. Maybe next time. :-(

Someone got tired of giving out the foods. (hehe) Thank you to my little sister, Pearl, who is always very supportive of everything I do for the kids. She's my partner in crime and good things. Hahahaha

The aftermath. All the food ran out and some of the women are thankful that we went there to celebrate our birthday with them. I wish I could do more, but this is a start. This is it for now. It will not end here, that I am sure.

To all who made this possible, I thank you so, so much, from the bottom of my heart! You are gold, you are precious and I am so glad that you helped me prepared this and made my birthday special. You have fulfilled my birthday wish for this year. THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH!

I pray that God will replace you with more than you have given, 100 folds more. Thank you for your kindness.

And lastly, I would like to greet you a VERY FRUITFUL and Happy Birthday, Kirk!!!

Again, to all who helped, I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH. THANK YOU SO, SO MUCH. Lots of love to you.

Sincerely glad, happy and fulfilled,

SHANE

P.S: Sorry I couldn't take more photos or videos because there were only three of us doing the distribution and we can barely handle the people. So I'm really sorry if my photography skills didn't work this time. :'(

We have been trying to get more people to donate for the kids as we are targeting to feed as much as 100 kids. Time is also short, so we had to postpone the feeding to August 6, 2018, Monday, since that is a holiday in Cebu city and the kids will surely be there.

We'll be doing the shopping on August 5, Sunday. And we will cook on Monday morning to have the food distributed on Monday afternoon. Thank you again so much for all your support!

You are all soooooo amazing!!!
