a 27 years old from iraq. I recently finished my master's degree in malaysia.
Working part time as software developer, researcher and writing assignments for other students for living.
I left my country due to terrible situation caused by terror, many friends of mine lost their lives during the past 5 years since ISIS came to iraq.
So at that time (2014) i decided to continue my education to have a chance of moving to safe place and hopefully would search for a decent job and life for me and my family.
Recently (2018) i got rejected from registering my PhD because i found out that i have HIV in my blood.
I was shocked, couldn't believe it. Malaysia refused to help me getting diagnosed nor giving any meds.
I went back to my country to start my healing journey, But it is a big problem bcuz the stigma of this disease is unbelievable and whoever has this disease is gonna be socially isolated or could be killed by anonymous/religous groups or even government parties.
That's why people with this disease are hiding themselves. Few years back a group of HIV people were seeking medication, unfortunately, they were killed.
Please check this link for the news:
Killers believe that HIV positive people should be killed because in iraq there are not any medication nor specialized medical staff who can provide treatment, or it is caused by sex and it is a big sin.
Due to exporting/importing issues in iraq, there is no guarantee of getting the meds even if found.
It is dangerous to start medication in this case, if the patient stop using the drugs, the virus can create antibodies against the medication, therefore it would be useless to reuse the meds when available again, and then HIV it going to be AIDS.
If you want to see my reports and blood test, all you have to is ask!
Currently i'm applying to phd program in canada. I need to raise money in order to be able to move there and start my medication.
Thank you for giving your time reading this, share my story or donating yourself.
I will pray for all of you and myself.
