My name is Sandro, also known as Sanio (SanioDigitalArt), who loves drawing ancient Egyptians. Ever since I was a kid, drawing was my biggest passion and recently my hobby has evolved into a full-time job.
One day, while drawing a illustration of a mother scolding her son while he is catching a cat, a story popped in my head and suddenly these random characters had names and a background. That day I wrote the whole story about an ancient Egyptian boy named Ipu and his obsession to befriend his family's pet cat. Long story short, Ipu wants to be friends with the cat, but that cat isn't in the mood at that given moment. Ipu tries everything, but will that be enough for the cat?
And after writing the story and making rough sketches I decided, after almost 20 years of drawing, the time finally came. Time to make my own children's book.
A friend of mine did the proofreading and I showed the sketches and read the story to a few friends and their kids. And to my surprise, because I'm an extra self-critical person, they were all already in love with the story and the art.
I even have a publisher, but the thing is, I have to pay 3000 USD for publishing the book, and at the moment this is something I cannot afford.
This is why I decided to make this profile and see, all you good people, will you help a kid in me live his dream and see my art in a form of a book on the shelves.
The illustration that I upload here is actually the one that was created coincidentally and gave life to this idea. To see more of my art and be updated on this book process feel free to check my business page on Instagram:
