I am currently doing my masters in audiology at UCT, and I need help to cover my tuition fees and research funds. I received government funding to complete my undergraduate degree and am unable to receive it again to cover my tuition costs for this year.
I have always had a passion for helping hearing impaired individuals, particularly those who are unable to receive proper support and services because of financial constraints. I believe that studying further and investigating new cost-effective ways of helping those in need is my first step in making a difference.
My research is investigating the use of an online listening training program for hearing aid users in government hospitals. With my research I hope to shed light on a new possible way of providing hearing rehabilitation for patients who struggle to receive the treatment because of financial/social restrictions (e.g. travel costs to hospital). The online program I need is $79 (R1133,07) per user (I need a minimum of 10 users for my study), and my tuition is R30 000 ($2091,50).
Your donations would help me achieve my dream and would be much appreciated!
