Help me cover my first year tuition at SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music

Hi, my name is Leonid Morozov, and I love Jazz. I was just accepted and awarded a merit based scholarship to Berklee College of Music, NEC, SUNY Purchase College, CUNY, New School and Loyola University of New Orleans, but my family can’t afford it. I decided to continue my education in Purchase Conservatory of Music and I could really use your help to cover the tuition cost.

Here’s my story.

** Jazz is in my blood - I’m a 5th generation musician in my family. In fact, my grandfather began and still runs the largest jazz festival in Russia.

** 4 years ago I began to play blues on my harmonica on the street, just to get enough cash for dinner.

** I took up guitar, harmonica, and singing, and have been practicing music for 8-10 hours a day for the past 3 years.

** Now I play on stage every two weeks with professional musicians like Leonid and Nick Vintskevich, Aleksei Kuznetsov, Vartan Babayan, Steve Kershaw, Lembit Saarsaalu, Kip Reed, Joel Taylor etc.

** I currently have a full tuition scholarship to one of the best jazz colleges in Moscow, where I study Jazz guitar.

** I started my own ensemble, and every month I find concerts for us to play.

I love and breathe jazz with every inch of my body.

I love playing and writing jazz music, and I have a vision that encompasses the best traditions of Russian and European Jazz music, with the original American Jazz Classics.

I want to bring my vision to US. While I was awarded a merit scholarship for attendance, it’s still nowhere near enough for my family to afford my tuition. We are a big friendly family, and are pulling out every stop to get me there, but I just need your help.
