Campaign Story
I am Dennis Kibet from Nairobi Kenya and I am a volunteer Pilot at The Kenya Wildlife Service(KWS). KWS is a state corporation mandated to conserve and manage Kenya wildlife for the Kenyan people and the world.
My Job at KWS air wing section is to fly a light aircraft(Cessna 182) over the many Game parks and Game reserves scattered around the country. My duties include security and patrol flights, veterinary support services for research and translocation purposes, animal tracking game census, transport and distribution of supplies.
I have been using my Private Pilots License(PPL) to fly but recently, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority new rules and regulations barred me from flying with my PPL. So I am currently grounded because i need a Commercial Pilots License(CPL).
Flying and wildlife have always been my passion ever since i was a small kid. I used to be the Chairperson of the Wildlife Clubs of Kenya in my high school and now an active member of Youth for Conservation movement in Nairobi. Thats is why i was considered by the KWS staff to be part of their operations.
I have been volunteering with KWS with no pay since January 2015 and run a small farming business to sustain me but it cant fund my flying. As a result, i would wish to humbly request you to help me fund for my CPL flight training and examinations so that i continue conserving and taking care of our God given wildlife as soon as possible. Thanks alot and be blessed.
