Hi everyone our names are Epifania and Miriam, weu live in Namibia, Africa, I hope you are in good health while reading this. This is our story.

My sibling and I were born in Luanda, Angola, it is located on the Southern part of Africa. When I was 4 years old our father forcefully took us out of Angola by selling our house and sending thiefs after us when my mum refused to leave with him, he stop giving my mum money for food for us and threatening her everyday until she decided to give in.

This was a common thing in Angola. In the 2000 women had no rights in Angola, and at that time there was a civil war. Thus even her father did nothing when he heard all that our father was doing, and told my mum a womans job is to be submissive to her husband do the chores and bare chilldren.

After my mum agreed, we moved to Windhoek,Namibia where we still live to this day. When we arrived in this land like all foreigners my mum was completely clueless, she knew no one and at that time it was only me and my 2 siblings. My elder brother was 6 years old, I was 4, and younger sister was 2 years old. Even so my father placed in a house filled so many people that were either thiefs, rapers, and murderers at that my mum and us had no idea, and that was not the only thing he did cause after that he left us there (my father is a person that sees his nieces and nephews as children, rather than his actual children). My mum had no idea where she was with unknown people and he just left us for 2 years. We were like servants there I remember my younger sister of two crying at night for food because we were bearly given food. The people there would look at us bad, tell at us and make us do the chores. If we broke something we were beaten and not given food.

Because of all this my mum started looking for house work and after 6 months of that torture, she found one as a cleaner, she would save up the money she got, and soon after she found a small place and we moved out of that house, into a 1 badroom house. The land lord there was a monster really that's all I remember, she would hit us when my mum was at work, she also had the keys to the small house we lived in and would often come and take the little food we had, saysing that my mum had not yet paid rent and so the food that she was taking was her compensation. It was hard at such a young age going through that and watching my mum cry herself to sleep every night.

After a year and half, my father returned not because he wanted us but because he was poisoned and his nieces, nephews and sisters did not want to take care of him. So he came back so my mum can take care of him, my mum being so nice and having all the teaching of her father that a womens job is to take care of her husband no matter what he does she welcomed him home. At that time I remember being so happy that he came home despite everything cause at the end of the day he was the father that we missed so much. Things did get a little better especially the food was more than it was before. He got treated at the hospital and for the next four years that he was being treated he was home, but I guess not really home, home. I remember the arguments he would stir up, the blackmail "if you want to food in this house then do what I say no matter what, if you want your children to go to school then stop working or I'll throw you out of this house," when my mum didn't listen he would beat her right infront of us, bring his mistresses in our house and we had to serve them, he would hit us for no reason and come home so drunk with his friends they would threaten my mum telling her that she has two daughters and she should be careful, only when my mum agreed to his demand did he stop.

Fast forward to 17 years and a 1 more younger brother later, he still does this same thing, as of now this is what happened a few days a go he asked my younger sister, "who took the pepper out of the fridge during the night and let it go bad?", my sister response was "It was not me". After she said that he picked up a chair ready to hit my sister with it. I intervene and threw the chair in another direction. When he saw me do that he pounched me on my left eye and started to gauge at it( Our mum is currently not with us her and my older brother had to go back cause their passport expired and it's very expensive to apply for another one). If it was not for our pregnant aunt who is currently living with us he would have succeeded.

It is hard to find a job in Namibia since we're foreigners. But still enough is enough, we want to move out of this abusive house after that incident he stop buying food for us and has not paid our tuition fees so we currently at home not going to university. In the past when he would do this, we were afraid that if we don't listen to him he will do what he said, so we kept quiet and always did whatever he said to do. But now we don't really care we just want an out.

From that day on, he keeps on bringing strange men in the house saying that I will sell the house and you guys will live in the streets. We called the police but they only come talk to him and then go. They say that they cannot do anything and we must endure it. Things are really bad, the worse part is that my little brother Natanael is only 11 years old and this is the time when he is suppose to be learning new things as he grows from being a child to a teen and I don't want him to think that this is the way of life, that abusing people is right and that women have no value.

That's why we opened this fundme page, to ask for help. PLEASE HELP US MOVE OUT FROM THIS ABUSIVE HOUSE, women are not punching bags for men and I believe we have great potential as well. Help us prove to our father that without him we can still do the unimaginable.

House prices here are significantly high, a small two bedroom house costs $80 000 and above. We really need the money to move out, every single day he is mentality, physically and verbally abusing us. It's suffocating and we are really scared.

Any amount will be highly appreciated. I thank you for the time you took reading this.

Regards

Epifania and Miriam
